I’ve nearly had this blog for a year. Posting every Monday. Seeking out new geeky things to share. All 30 of you have probably noticed, I’m not posting anymore.
It’s because I’m no longer a Resident Director. I don’t live in the resident halls. I don’t do conduct meetings. I don’t have a duty phone any longer.
I’m going to Afghanistan.
I’m heading there to work on radiation trucks and train people on how to use them. I’ll be there about a year. Maybe more if like it. This I doubt, but we’ll see.
Everyone I’ve told has been shocked. WHAT? YOU? AFGHANISTAN? It’s like finding a camel in the Arctic.
For reasons I won’t get into here, I just needed a change (note: it was not my school, housing department or anything like that. We left on the BEST of terms.)
I just decided it was time to hit the reset button on my life, do something outrageous and maybe learn to be brave. I’d like to figure out what I’m doing the next 40 years of my life or at least get close to it.
I’ll be booting up a new blog soon, so stay tuned. I’ve enjoyed writing this blog and I hope it has brought some smiles to your days. Maybe you’ve used it during a staff development. Maybe just for some encouragement.
All and all, I’ll return and maybe I’ll guest post. Tyler Miller, a buddy of mine shall be taking over and I have all the faith in the world he’ll do a great job.
Bye for now.
